About The Course

The private pilot license for airplanes PPL(A) authorizes a pilot to conduct private, recreational, or sports flights with a single-engine airplane during daylight and in visual meteorological conditions. The holder of the license is authorized to conduct flights only for private purposes, may take passengers on board, but cannot fly with financial profit. The private pilot license is the basic license for all individuals interested in pilot training who want to become professional pilots.

Career

The private pilot license for airplanes PPL(A) is the basic license for starting a career as a professional pilot. Although the license is the initial step in a professional aviation career, it only authorizes the holder to fly for private purposes, i.e., it is not possible to fly for financial profit. However, with a PPL license, gaining flight experience and relevant theory, you can become an instructor at a flight school for private pilot training.

Description

Flight Training:

Flight Training:

Total flight training hours: 45 hours*

  • With an instructor: 25 hours*
  • Solo flights: 10 hours*
  • Solo navigation flights: 5 hours*
  • Including 1 flight of at least 270 km (150 NM), during which the pilot completes 1 landing at a different airport than the departure airport
  • *minimum hours required
GARMIN 1000 Course:

To maintain the highest quality of training and adhere to modern standards, we have integrated the GARMIN 1000 Course (G1000) into the basic PPL(A) training. The GARMIN 1000 is a modern navigation system used in aviation. The operating principles of the GARMIN 1000 are similar to those of avionics systems in commercial aircraft. The GARMIN 1000 can be an invaluable aid during navigation flights or in deteriorating weather conditions. Like any advanced avionics system, it requires a good understanding for safe and, above all, comprehensive use. The course will familiarize you with VFR procedures for the G1000 and the basic principles of system operation, as well as how to address any malfunctions.

Theory Course:

The PPL(A) theory course is in line with the syllabus of the PPL(A) Theory Course for Private Pilots (Airplane). The course is individualized. According to the student’s requirements, the entire course can be conducted: remotely (online) or in-person, combined with self-study. In-person theory instruction is integrated with flight training.

  • Consultation with Instructor: 20 hours (in-person or online)
  • Self-study using CBT (Computer Based Training) via eLearning provided by our school. Our school’s eLearning platform also includes exam questions to prepare for examinations at the Civil Aviation Authority.

Study materials and textbooks are included in the eLearning platform and are included in the course fee.

Price

The price you will have to pay to learn to fly and obtain a pilot’s license varies from person to person and depends on many factors. The price should not be the main factor in deciding where to get your pilot’s license. When it comes to flight training, cheap is rarely good.

Basic factors affecting the cost of training:
  • Your goals in aviation
  • Type of aircraft for training with regard to goals
  • How much time can I devote to training

Your goals in flying have a significant impact on how your overall flight training will be conducted. If you want to fly only recreationally, training in an aircraft with lighter avionics will be significantly cheaper than compared to a businessman or future professional pilot.

The price of pilot training

The price of pilot training for individual pilot licenses is set in connection with the number of flight hours in the curriculum, the time of ground preparations, and theoretical instruction in the classroom. Further, it is necessary to count additional expenses for landing and other airport fees and fees for exams at authorities and payments for obtaining necessary permits for training.

In our flight school, you receive the following for your training FREE of charge:
  • Study materials including trial test questions
  • Access to E-learning for theoretical instruction and self-study
  • Introductory flight

Will be conducted in Georgia at 1 of these 6 Airports depending on weather and flight tasking.

FAQ

Do I need a visa to study in Georgia?

Citizens of many CIS and European countries can enter Georgia without a visa and stay here for up to one year. We can help with an invitation if needed.

Where does the training take place?

The theoretical part (if needed) is conducted online. The flight training takes place at Natakhtari Airfield (Georgia).

Is it possible to pay for the training in installments?

Yes. All courses are paid in stages — you only pay for the current module (PPL, flight hours, etc.).

Do you provide student accommodation?

Yes. We offer accommodation either directly at the airfield or nearby Mtskheta area.

What level of English do I need?

A basic level is enough to start. Aviation English (ICAO) exam will be required — we help organize it online.

I have never flown before. Can I start from scratch?

No. For CPL(A) you must already have a PPL(A) license. If you don’t have it yet, start with PPL(A) course.

Can I start training without a medical certificate?

You will need a Class 1 Medical Certificate for CPL(A) practical training and licensing.
